A BARACCA DU PEI
In 1943, as a consequence of the bombardments of the World War II, Nonno Giacomen built a little wood shack in the centre of our olive groove, called "A Baracca". It was made to host the family when the city centre was targeted by the air strikes.
This humble house was subsequently turned into an agricultural storage warehouse, a place where we stored olives before the pressing.
For our family the "baracca" has always been a meeting place for relaxing and having fun with relatives and friends. Down on the page there are some photos of grandparents Odilla and Pippo, the old owners of the olive groove.
